Sex Doll Skeletons
The skeleton is the part you never see and always feel. It determines whether a doll sits naturally, stands safely and holds a pose without sagging. A beautiful sculpt on a weak skeleton is frustrating to own.
This guide explains how doll skeletons work, what the common options are, and how to judge quality.

How a doll skeleton works
Most full-size dolls use a steel or alloy frame with articulated joints at the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles. The frame is embedded in the body material, so the joints are felt through the skin rather than seen.
Better skeletons use more joints, smoother tension and lighter materials. The latest designs increase articulation while reducing weight, which improves posing without making the doll harder to lift.
Posing and tension
A good skeleton holds a pose without needing constant adjustment. Too loose and the doll collapses; too tight and the joints are stiff and difficult to move. Quality control matters here, and premium brands generally have more consistent tension.
Test the seated position in photos. A doll that sits naturally is usually built on a better skeleton than one that only looks good standing.
Standing feet
Standing feet use bolts or hidden reinforcement in the soles so the doll can support itself. Bolts are visible on the sole; hidden standing feet keep the foot smooth. Hidden feet cost more but look better barefoot.
Even with standing feet, most owners keep a wall or support nearby. On smooth floors, a fall can damage the skeleton or the skin.
- Standard feet: best for lying and seated poses
- Standing bolts: visible on the sole, lower cost
- Hidden standing feet: smooth sole, higher cost
- Always use support on smooth floors
Warranty and repair
Skeletons can fail at high-stress joints, especially if the doll is stored in an awkward pose or lifted by the limbs. A two-year frame warranty is standard at FullSizeDolls. Store the doll flat or supported, and avoid leaving joints under tension for months.
